Rejecting The Notion That Ovarian Cancer Can’t Be Eradicated.
Since 1998, Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) has been standing hand-in-hand with the people experiencing, affected by, or at risk of the disease. Through continuous research, fundraising, and advocacy, the organization has been tirelessly working to make an impact and bring hope to people across the country.
Still, OCC recognized that there hadn’t been a significant shift in ovarian cancer outcomes for over 50 years — and that it was time to shift away from a soft, hyper-feminized brand and website into a bolder, more demanding presence. After all: nothing changes if nothing changes.
Goals:
Design a bold, brave, and impactful brand identity
Create a series of impactful videos for brand launch campaign
Re-design and re-skin OCC’s website with the updated brand identity
Unapologetically Bold
Recognizing the innate power and resilience of those who have or have had ovarian cancer, CT ushered in an equally as commanding colour palette for OCC’s brand — including teal, electric neons, and stark black. The logo, appearing in a ribbon shape, mimics the shape of female reproductive organs and binds together three of OCC’s core pillars: research, fundraising, and advocacy.
Disrupting the Status Quo
Although CT had redesigned and redeveloped OCC’s legacy website, the organization’s new brand identity demanded a second iteration of the project: a re-design and re-skin.
The re-designed, re-skinned, and mobile-friendly website brought in the bolder, vibrant brand approach through powerful imagery, standout headings, ribbon-inspired patterns, and micro-animations. Clear calls-to-action were introduced, and an obvious shift in the tone of voice for the website’s content made one thing abundantly clear: OCC will not rest until the number of deaths from this disease is zero
