An Agricultural Community

South Bruce is a charming municipality located in the southeastern corner of Bruce County, Ontario. Nestled amongst some of the region’s best agricultural lands and delivering small-town hospitality with modern amenities, South Bruce has grown to become a beloved home for more than 5,600 residents.

While South Bruce’s existing brand had served its purpose, it required updating. CT was hired to execute a series of stakeholder engagement activities in order to better understand the entire Municipality’s — as well as each community’s — interests, priorities, and vision, and then translate the findings into a main municipal brand and three community sub-brands.

Goals:

Design a brand identity that unifies South Bruce’s villages and distinguishes it from nearby destinations

Deliver a cohesive brand guidelines document that build brand continuity and consistency

Create façade improvement guidelines that provide a clear identity, look, and “feel” for each community

CT design four banners for the Municipality of South Bruce as well as its three communities.

Taglines

To complement South Bruce’s warm and welcoming brand, two tagline concepts were created — both signifying its geographical location.

“Gateway to Bruce” is meant for use in mediums that require short-form copy, whereas “Delivering hospitality from the Gateway to Bruce County” is meant for formal applications and more illustrious marketing deliverables.
