Cinnamon Toast is engaged by Consumer Protection BC in a website redesign project to improve access, clarity, and trust.
As the provincial regulator for fair, transparent, and safe business practices, Consumer Protection BC plays a critical role in protecting consumers and maintaining trust in the marketplace. Small but impactful, the organization balances enforcement with education to support individuals and businesses alike.
To better support this work, Cinnamon Toast is redesigning and redeveloping the Consumer Protection BC website, alongside a light digital refresh of the organization’s visual identity to create a more cohesive and contemporary experience.
Designing for Clarity in Complex Systems
Regulatory websites are inherently complex, serving multiple audiences with different needs and translating legal information into clear, actionable guidance.
For Consumer Protection BC, this means creating a digital experience that works equally well for consumers seeking help, businesses navigating licensing and compliance requirements, and stakeholders looking for transparency, accountability, and information.
This project reflects the importance of thoughtful information architecture and content design, paired with an updated visual approach that supports clarity and consistency across the user journey. Together, these elements ensure users can quickly understand their rights, responsibilities, and next steps.
A Platform That Supports Service and Efficiency
Cinnamon Toast will create a modern, flexible platform that looks and functions better while supporting the organization’s operational and strategic priorities.
The redesigned website will aim to:
- Simplify key processes such as licensing, complaints, and compliance
- Improve navigation for users
- Present complex regulatory information in clear, user-friendly ways
- Support accessibility and performance across all devices
- Enable internal teams to manage and update content with ease
- Strengthen search visibility, including SEO and emerging AEO practices
- Support proactive consumer education through modern content tools
Building Trust Through Digital Experience
For organizations like Consumer Protection BC, a website is a primary point of interaction between the public and the services they rely on. A well-designed experience builds confidence, reduces frustration, and reinforces credibility, helping users find information while feeling supported and empowered.
We’re proud to help create a site that reflects the organization’s impact and strengthens its role as a trusted source of information across British Columbia, supported by a refreshed digital presence that brings greater clarity and cohesion to the brand.
