For communities today, a website is more than a source of information. It’s where residents access services, visitors plan experiences, and community members connect with the programs and resources they rely on every day.
That’s why Cinnamon Toast is partnering with the Town of Orangeville to redesign its municipal, tourism, and public library websites. The project is an opportunity to reimagine how Orangeville’s digital system works, creating three distinct but connected websites that make it easier for people to find what they need, while still reflecting the energy and community spirit that define Orangeville.
Time for a Digital Reset
Located less than an hour from Toronto, Orangeville is known for its vibrant downtown, strong sense of community, and small-town charm with big-city amenities.
Like many municipalities, Orangeville’s websites have grown and evolved over time. Along the way, content has accumulated, systems have become more complex, and user expectations have changed. With the Town’s current content management system approaching retirement, the timing is right to rethink the experience from the ground up.
The Best Websites Start With Strategy
Before design or development begins, we’ll take the time to understand what people need from Orangeville’s websites. Through engagement, top-task analysis, content reviews, and industry benchmarking, we’ll uncover what’s working, where challenges exist, and where opportunities can be created.
We’ll also conduct a comprehensive content ROT analysis (redundant, outdated, and trivial content) to identify what should be retained, refined, reorganized, or retired.
The result? Smarter information architecture, clearer navigation, and digital experiences designed around real user needs rather than organizational structures.
A Better Experience Behind the Scenes
What users see is only part of the story. The systems behind a website are just as important as its appearance.
Using a flexible pattern library alongside custom-designed page templates, the new websites will support better content management, stronger governance, and a more efficient experience for Town staff, all while providing users with a faster, more intuitive journey.
Future-Ready by Design
By creating a flexible, future-ready foundation, this project will help ensure Orangeville’s digital experience can continue to grow, adapt, and support community needs for years to come.
The best municipal websites evolve alongside the communities they serve, and we’re excited to help bring that vision to life.
