Sensplex has become a major hub for sports and recreation across Ottawa, serving families, athletes, coaches, and community organizations across multiple facilities. But while the organization continued to grow, its website struggled to keep pace.
Originally created as a temporary solution, the previous site made it difficult for users to find programs, schedules, tournaments, registrations, and facility information.
Important content was often buried across pages or housed in PDFs, creating frustration for parents, players, and coaches trying to complete simple tasks online.
Sensplex partnered with Cinnamon Toast to redesign and redevelop the platform from the ground up, creating a clearer, more user-friendly experience built around accessibility, usability, and long-term growth.
Cinnamon Toast began by auditing the existing website experience, reviewing analytics, content structures, and key user pain points. Several challenges surfaced: important information was difficult to find, navigation felt inconsistent, and completing simple tasks was difficult for users.
Audience insights reinforced the need for speed and clarity. Parents needed quick access to registration details and schedules, while coaches and recreational users required a more reliable way to browse leagues, tournaments, and facility availability.
