Two companies unified.

Following the approval of a proposed merger between Veridian Connections Inc. and Whitby Hydro Energy Corporation, CT was hired by “The Utilities” to successfully design and implement a new brand (with sub-brands), as well as to deliver a website to represent the new company.

Due to the magnitude of the project, a multitude of stakeholder groups needed to be engaged by way of digital survey, one-on-one interviews, and focus group discussions, through which themes of safety, reliability, and respect emerged as focal points.

Goals:

Conceptualize and design a flexible brand identity and hierarchy for sub-brands

Electric + Lexicon = Elexicon

Calling upon the data collected throughout stakeholder engagement activities, CT developed a new name for “The Utilities” – Elexicon Energy. The name’s prefix reflects the resource the company readily provides its customers, while its suffix celebrates the notion of a branch of knowledge and expertise.

The logo features a slight variation to represent Elexicon Energy, Group, and Corporation, and each variation is centered around movement; the coming together of electricity, ideas, or entities.

Response-ability

Elexicon takes pride in responsiveness and proactivity. As such, the brand tagline “Our power is response-ability” was developed to reflect themes of safety, reliability, and accountability.

Energizing Elexicon’s online presence.

Following the launch of Elexicon’s brand, CT was tasked with creating a unified website experience in which customers, contractors, and shareholders would be able to gain access to valuable information. Designed on WordPress and featuring a streamlined navigation, the modernized website is AODA compliant and responsive across devices and browsers.

In addition to an outage map, interactive bills, career listings, and corporate reports, the site also points users to social media feeds and a newsroom for up-to-date company information.
