Cinnamon Toast developed a modern municipal brand identity for Niagara Falls that celebrates community pride, supports economic growth, and extends the City’s identity beyond its world-renowned tourism appeal.
Globally recognized as one of the world’s most iconic visitor destinations, Niagara Falls did not require reinforcement of its tourism brand. However, to better reflect its evolving residential community and Council’s ambition to position Niagara Falls as an exceptional place to live, work, and grow, CT conceptualized and delivered a refreshed municipal identity in October 2025.
From Destination to Community-Driven Identity
While tourism branding drives awareness and short-term economic activity, municipal branding strengthens a city’s broader value proposition to residents, businesses, investors, and prospective talent. It positions the City as a place to live, work, invest, and grow—not solely a place to visit.
With this in mind, Cinnamon Toast began the rebrand process by leading a series of key audience engagement activities. Across consultations, consistent themes emerged: a deep appreciation for natural beauty, strong connections to history and heritage, and a desire for a brand that feels welcoming, modern, and distinctly Canadian.
Translating Insight into Identity
Informed by these insights, Cinnamon Toast developed a visual identity system anchored in clarity, movement, and civic pride.
The logo features:
- Clean, flowing lines inspired by moving water
- A rich blue palette that conveys depth, vitality, and growth, complemented by lighter aqua tones that introduce vibrancy
- Strong typography and a subtle maple leaf element to reinforce Canadian identity and civic pride
Cinnamon Toast was proud to partner with Niagara Falls on this work, helping to shape a municipal identity that reflects both its global stature and its local community.
